About the Artwork
Every once in a while, a project starts as a bad idea… and somehow turns into something magical.
Project #4 began with a simple (and mildly unhinged) challenge: take random, found, upcycled materials—the kind of stuff most people wouldn’t think twice about throwing away—and force them into a tiny Christmas ornament. Not decorate the ornament. Not hang it. Stuff an entire character inside it.
And of course, because that wasn’t complicated enough, this build also became the centerpiece of a short story set in the sci-fi fantasy world of Aodhanis (learn more about Tales from Aodhanis), unfolding during the Winterlight Festival in the snowy town of Snow Veil
The result? A flying robot named Spark-E, built from recycled chaos, glowing with fairy lights, powered by imagination, and carrying a story about memory, kindness, and hope.
You really need to see this one to believe it. The full build, all the trial-and-error, and the complete reveal are up now on YouTube.
The Short Story Hidden Inside an Ornament
At the heart of this project is a short story set during the Winterlight Festival, where Spark-E secretly helps people by repairing cherished objects—unlocking the memories stored inside them.

Inspired by Toys for Tots
This story is also inspired by the mission of the organization I’m supporting: Toys for Tots. While they’re best known for their Christmas campaign, their work goes far beyond the holidays—providing toys, books, and vital support to children in need all year long. Just to be clear, this project is not sponsored or in any way affiliated with Toys for Tots. I just wanted to bring awareness to an amazing cause that I support.
